You could say that my wife and I are addicted to traveling. We did afterall meet while studying abroad, then spent two weeks with nothing but backpacks, a Eurorail pass, a plunky attitude, and the type of confidence that only comes from youthful ignorance. Now older, and as responsible parents of two kiddos, we are trying our hardest to pass that addiction to the next generation. In our younger years, traveling was so easy and carefree, full of relaxation and quiet time for exploration and reflection. As it turns out though, small children don’t share those same ideals, values, and goals. We, however, will not give up in the face of that adversity, and remain steadfast in our commitment to travel with the family. Not every trip has been a rousing success, but all have been magical in one way or another. And that magic has often been that we learned a lot of hard lessons about the reality of traveling with two small humans. That is what leads us here. We’d like to share those successes, failures, and most importantly, lessons with you. So, take your family on an adventure, and welcome to The Family Trip Fix.
